Aux Charpentiers

In Paris for about 10 days in September 2008. Visited Aux Charpentiers twice, with the same great results. The staff here is friendly and very helpful - when our French failed us , they helped us along in very courteous manner. The food is, for the most part, straightforward bistro fare - Boudin Noir, Escargots, Poulet Roti, etc. - and of very high quality. The Prix fixe menus on both nights were fairly large and reasonably priced. The wine list is not large, but contains a nice selection and is well-priced. The restaurant is close to the Mabillon metro stop and right across the street from the St. Germain shopping center (underground parking available for those daring enough to drive in Paris). Definitely worth a stop if you're in the 6th.
