Zizzi (Wigmore St)

i travel (and dine) quite extensively thru out europe. Zizzi is by no stretch of the imagination an italian restaurant.

i have eaten there several times this year mainly because of the out door seating and its adjacency to my hotel.

it is just OK; not offensive nor is it a delight - basic.

will i go there again, probably yes. would i recommend it for a serious dining experience - No.

Bombay Palace

i have dined at the Bombay Palace in Mumbai and New York before visting the London location 13 years ago for the first time. in these past 13 years i have lived in London and Holland. i have dined at the Bombay Palace countless times and have taken a multitude of friends, family and business associates.

the menu varies thru out the year and is not your typical "indian". yes, it may be a bit pricey but well worth the experience. i uusually close my eyes to try to capture all the complex tastes and pleasures the food has to offer. i have never found the offerins to either be too hot to the taste or overly spicey

i highly recommend the Bombay Palace; service is top, the space is very nicely designed (not in your face), no annoying loud indian music, and across the road from a green oasis in the middle of London.
