We were recommended to this restaurant by the Montalembert. A little out of the way, but a terriffic experience. Warm interior decor, friendly staff (we were given menu help from the owner) and well executed bistro fare. The daube was one of the best I've eaten. Oddly enough, Jean-Claude Vrinat's wife was dining next to us. I latter learned that once a year they take their regular Taillevent patrons to Chardenoux for an extended dinner. Highly recommended.

We were there for lunch twice last year. The first time, we were delighted with the food and service. The second time, a bit less so (ambiance was still exceptional); however, we plan on going back in March, and ,in any case, highly recommend it, despite it being a bit out of the way.

This is a quintissential Belle Epoque Paris bistro with a great history. It is off the beaten track, but certainly worth tracking down. Fantastically friendly service, slightly above average prices on the food, but the ingredients were first rate, including a risotto with pleurottes and scallops, and a wonderful slow cooked lamb shank with spiced vegetables. Recommended.
