Chez Catherine
your comments review this restaurant
I loved this restaurant. I found it well priced and the food great. The atmosphere was welcoming, cozy. The chef, Catherine, came around and visited with each guest. Certainly reflected the review it got in Bon Appetite magazine a couple of years ago. I'd highly recommend it!

Our concierge recommended this restaurant as it was a short walk from our hotel in Avenue Hoche. I am not sure if this was the right thing to do but we were feeling lazy. On approach its elegant looking, small and quaint, but the first thing you notice is the lack of atmosphere and slightly stuffy welcome. The decor is nothing to ooh about, infact quite dull and boring. The menus is fairly limited but wine list is good. We spent 140 euros on 3 courses and 1 bottle of wine, which we thought was overpriced for the standard of the food. Its nicely presented but did not blow us away. There were no bursting flavours and the amuse bouche tasted like a little dish of cheese sauce. We have eaten in many top restaurants, and although this is listed in the 100 top restaurants book, which they were happy to present to us on departure, I would not go out of my way to recommend it.
