This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the hotel where my husband and I stayed. The staff was warm and our waitress was very patient with our questions about the menu. For appetizers, I got the foie gras and my husband got the lobster salad. Both were very good (albeit the foie gras was a bit heavy but I think that is by nature - but the sweet stuff it came with helped to balance it). For our main, I had the scallops (recommended) and my husband had the sea bass. Again, excellent but we were about to burst by the end. Incredibly, we decided to go the extra mile and get a dessert, which we shared, and coffee (each of us got one). We got the chocolate souffle (again recommended). It was HEAVENLY; pure delight. I definitely recommend it. (We also each got a glass of wine. All of this ran us 150 Euros.)
Just some background, between my husband and I, we have lived in Hawaii, NYC, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, and are familiar with San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area as we have relatives there.
This was an excellent place to get a taste of traditional French cuisine. I definitely recommend it.

interior is quite old fashioned but in a nice old world charm sort of way. service was polite and efficient, if not particularly warm.
dover sole and sea bass, both excellent. perfectly cooked. desserts equally well executed.
would not hesitate to recommend.
