Bistro de Breteuil

I got the recommendation from Peter Greenberg, travel writer. He talked about the restaurant on the Today show.
Fixed price, they bring you a kir, then a three course meal with a half bottle of wine per person. Since I was alone, they brought me a whole bottle and didn't wince.
The rolls and butter were delicious and they kept bringing me more. I couldn't decide between the potatoes gratin and the pomme frites so the waiter told me he would bring me both.
It was an absolutely wonderful meal, great service, superb food and a joyous atmosphere. I would suggest walking to the Eifel Tower after the meal, nice walk, long enough and very pleasant.

We went to the Bistrot on our first night in Paris on the recommendation of my sister-in-law; her husband praised the escargots. I ordered those for my appetizer, my wife ordered something else. They were fabulous. So good in fact, that we went back three days later because my wife wanted her own plate of escargot. Everything else was excellent, too.
