My cousin and I went here to celebrate a very important birthday and could not have been more pleased. Our eyes rolled back into our heads with the first bite of steak, and the fries were glorious. It's worth it people.

I thought it was all hype.
But no - this really is fabulous steak frites in a wonderful restaurant with incredible staff who work it as a well oiled machine.
The sauce for the steak is just delicious and once you make it inside the door, you won't have to wait long so the queue is worth it.

My wife and I heard about entrocote restaurant from my uncle and as we were in Paris for our honeymoon last year we thought we would give it a try and we weren't dissapointed. As you can see from my review everything about the restaurant was just perfect. For our first anniversary I am taking my wife back to Paris and our first destination will be your restaurant! Cant wait!

I was in Paris in November 2005. I took a taxi to The Boulevard St. Germain. I had the driver drop me off at Rue Saint -Benoit. There was a restaurant on Rue Jacob that I used to frequent. It was now closed. I still wanted to explore the area, because I knew there was good food and music in the vicinity.
I came upon Le Relais de L' Entrecote as I was walking down Rue Saint-Benoit towards Rue Jacob. I noticed this restaurant it was filled with people and bustling with activity. The rest of the road appeared quiet. The restaurant was Le Relais de l'Entrecote. I entered the restaurant. At this point, I did not realize that there was only one meal being served. The place was crowded and I had a feeling the food was going to be good. It was a weeknight, so the wait was not long.
I was seated at a banquette. I was traveling alone, and was equipped with my reading material. I did notice that next to me two women were eating the same identical meal, and then they were served seconds. I knew I was in for something special. My server approached, and after the formalities of learning that I was American; the routine was explained. I had my salad, and my steak served rare with seconds.
I have been in Paris five times. I will be traveling there again at the end of October. In the United States, I do not eat a lot of red meat. When I am in France, I indulge, because they know how to cook it to perfection. This trip I will to go back to le Relais de l'Entrecote.

We've spent a week in Paris in June 2007 and Le Relais de l'Entrecôte was one of the best lunch experiences. We followed the travelers hint and new that the steak here comes in two parts and with a secret sauce. So we entered, were seated and asked how we would like it done. No further questions asked, steak arrived promptly, already cut in pieces, under the famous sauce, with fries. Very good steak, fixed price, E 23 including salad. And there were two portions, yes. About the secret sauce... I think you will get a similar one if you brew Dijon mustard in Chimichurri (Patagonia sauce). Certainly will come back.

We are just back from a week in Paris where we of course enjoyed great cuisine, especially at Le Relais de l'Entrecote. We went twice, once at each location, where we enjoyed not only the refreshing salad and extraordinary steak and fries, but also some reasonable wines and tasty deserts.

Have just returned from Paris where we came upon this place purely by chance - nearly didn't go in because of the brevity of the menu, but the number of people inside very early in the evening, when most other places around were half empty swayed our decision. So glad that it did - this was the best steak I have ever eaten in France, wonderful 'secret ingredients' sauce and great frites. We also didn't realise the main course came in two servings so were more than bemused when a second tray arrived!
Enjoyed the place so much that we went back again a few days later and still couldn't get the recipe for the sauce, I even offered to help in the kitchen for the day but with the numbers they feed (850 a day we were told) that would have been too much like hard work.

We discovered this marvelous place while eating at ChezAndre across the street. The lines were long so we assumed that it must be tres popular. The next evening (Sunday), we were able to get the very last outside table (7:00PM).What we did not know was that is one of the finest steak houses I have ever eaten in. Prix Fixe and superb. My companions are not big meat eaters and even they were swept away by the incredible meal. Their house red wine was the perfect accompniment to my "blue" filet mignon. The best part of the entire experience was that it was the least expensive meal we had in our (too brief) three day visit to paris. I would return in a trice!

A great place for Sunday lunch, it seemed that half of Paris seems to agree. Great steak, house wine was fruity and very drinkable. One the whole, a quintessential Paris dining experience at a very reasonable price.
