I didn't notice the bill because I was too busy licking my chops over the delicious sauce on the juicy steak and perfectly cooked and salted frites. This place is fantastic! Go!

Unbelievable. This restaurant was ridiculously overpriced. Herded us in like cattle, made no mention of the price and then when the bill came I was shocked. 115 euros for four steak frites twice the price of the any other place in Paris. Don't go.

My famile had the opportunity of staying for a long weekend in a freinds flat in St. Germaine, overlooking Paul's bakery which provided us with the sort of breakfast you can only really get in a France.... The first night we sat on our balcony (french style) and watched the world go by... we saw a few people begin to queue down the road at this restaurant - we had our michelin guide and had been looking up the 1/2 star restaurants to see where we would want to eat out. We decided to give this place a go - we had a 8 minutes wait - it was just before 1900hrs - early fro the french as by the time we were seated the queue was up the street, and round the corner!

The steak was brilliant - I say this for someone who loves his steak - I have eaten a porterhouse at Charlie's in Orlando, a filet at Les Rosieres in the Loire. I really do love my steak!

This was superb - to the extent we ate there three more times in our short trip. Timing is everything we maanged to time our arrival to perfection on the other two occasions, and on all trips it was fantastic.

we mentioned this to our freidn who had the extree good fortune to work in paris, and live in this fantastic location - all he said was this was one of the biggest perks of living in the place he did.

My family have been going there for 30 years and we have shared it with numerous friends who all say it is the best steak and chips they have ever had - obviously I completely agree. If only I knew the secret to the sauce.... The atmosphere is always pleasant and I have found that the other customers there are very friendly. One recommendation however, go at least 15 minutes before it opens for dinner, especially if it is at the weekend as there is usually a line of people already there (no reservations). If you happen to be the first there just wait by the door because you will soon be joined by others. The last time I went (jan 09) it cost 90 euros for two, including dessert and the most expensive wine on the menu, plus one beer.
