Le Petit St. Benoît
your comments review this restaurant
This is a bit of old French dining with the best beef bourguigonne we have ever had. Baguettes were wonderful and the wine delightful. Very crowded and tables pushed together. They were very accomodating even when they realized we were the only English speaking patrons in the place. Next time I go to Paris this is a must on our culinary list.

We love this little piece of old Paris, which resembles a set from a grainy 1930s Jean Gabin movie. The wait staff is swift and shows some patience with those not conversant in French, the house red is eminently drinkable, the menu is ample, the baguettes are fresh, and the price is right. We had dinner there July 10, and had to go back July 12. Get there at 19:00 when they open to get a table, as it usually fills up quickly. I'd go back for the French fries alone!

AVOID this place. We had a reservation for 9.45pm, for 8 persons. The 8 of us showed up 6 minutes late. Well.. not only they already gave up our table. The couple, owners of the place, made fun of us in front of all the restaurant, joked about us, and finally threw us out with almost indecent words,...
Forget about this place. (and by the way, I am French... used to this kind of attitude)

Always a treat -- you find totally authentic food here -- even un petit salé, which is tough to find anywhere! Tables are tight so you invariably end up talking with your neighbors, many of whom are regulars from the neighborhood. You will not be disappointed!
