La Truffière

The foie gras was perfect and so was the cheese. Other than that, the whole gastronomic menu was overrated. The canard parmentier did not reach my expectations and the raviolis de langoustine were not very fresh. As for the service, it was quite poor considering what one should expect in that type of restaurant. Spoons missing, ice cubes taken out with a spoon, only iced water available... And what can one say about the bill? 360 euros for 2 with a half bottle of wine ?? Exorbitant considering the quality of the food! To top it all, I was still hungry on the way out!!!

The food was excellent and the service up to a point could not be faulted but the wine was far too expensive and the waiter did a slate of hand by pointing at a half bottle of red wine costing approximately 70 euros yet the final bill showed the wine came at a cost of 250 euros. Unfortunately, I was too stupid to look at the bill properly until I reached home by which time it was too late to do anything about the extreme overcharge. I would never in my life select a half bottle of wine for 250 euros. Even the half bottle of white wine we ordered was charged at the same price as a full bottle. Diners should be wary of La Truffiere's attempt to get their guests to select the most expensive wine on their menu. The final bill of 612 euros for 2 people ruined what would have been a wonderful evening.
