The food was excellent and the service up to a point could not be faulted but the wine was far too expensive and the waiter did a slate of hand by pointing at a half bottle of red wine costing approximately 70 euros yet the final bill showed the wine came at a cost of 250 euros. Unfortunately, I was too stupid to look at the bill properly until I reached home by which time it was too late to do anything about the extreme overcharge. I would never in my life select a half bottle of wine for 250 euros. Even the half bottle of white wine we ordered was charged at the same price as a full bottle. Diners should be wary of La Truffiere's attempt to get their guests to select the most expensive wine on their menu. The final bill of 612 euros for 2 people ruined what would have been a wonderful evening.

We celebrated our silver wedding here on 9/11!!!!! Recommended by our Hotelier. I remember every bit of it. It was the most beautiful meal, wonderful service. I even had a stool to put my handbag on!!! We were given several extra entres to try as well as our ordered meal. The wine list was huge and some other guests ordered a £400 bottle of wine. We managed a St Emillion at £25, probably the cheapest in the book but it was gorgeous. We had a very memorable evening at a cost all in of £100 for 2. Couldn't fault it.

Great food and nice restaurant. Beware of the sommelier. Tried to push very expensive wines. I will give the restaurant a 5 in service only because of the sommelier. The rest of the staff was great.

Pretentious and over-priced. Really felt like a tourist trap, there wasn't a single French person among the guests the whole evening we were there.
My 73 Euro starter was a combination of cream, pasta and sand-like truffles that did not taste of truffles. The menu was confusing - mine didn't have prices, my husband's had a different order of dishes from mine. Second course was equally disappointing - a combination of tuna with fois gras plus a sweet jelly.
Sommelier was pretentious and somewhat frightening in his intensity.
Overall the place felt very touristy and was very expensive.
