this is time less paris in a nutshell .

unpretentious personified. at first you may think its just another street bar. the approach from the hotel de ville and the left turn at the seine just hints a the pleasure to come while the compulsary after dinner seine stroll often towrds the latin quarter sum up the charm of paris of any epoque .

first discovered march 1986 and three or four times a year ever since . recommended to countless relatives and and the verdict is unanimous . this is the essence of what so many cities lack . honest tasty fresh food at fantastic prices . simple menu , starters that do just that . my favourite is the frisee lardons ouef poche .main course portions that neither cheat nor bloat. nice simple atmosphere . this place takes a lot of the pretence out of so called gastronomy and reminds you that the pleasure of eating well is neither as complicated or out of reach as the clever so and so ramsey worrell thompson ferrran would make you believe . i have paid £25.00 for fare that in london the tip on it own would have dwarfed that . a gem

Our favourite restaurant in Paris. Eat here every time we visit which is 3 or 4 times a year. Excellent service, very friendly and good food. Try the duck with prunes
