We had heard of Bofinger and its reviews but what swung it for us was the program on tv the greatest cities of the world with Griff Rhys Jones We arrived on a hot August lunch time and was greeted by Thiery who was mentor for Griff Rhys Jones on his stint at working at Bofinger what a lunch can't wait to return.

Went there on Sunday night. All I can say is that it was a wonderful experience, in terms of ambience, service and food.

The food was fantastic. We had oysters, foie gras, escargots, sole a la meuniere and more. Everything was delicious.

We had a lovely lady serving our table and she couldn't have been nicer (which is welcomed, especially in Paris where service is notoriously rude at times). We didnt skimp on wine or champagne either, as well as having digesifs and were nicely surprised that our bill came in well below our expectations.

I would definitely recommend this place - there is nothing I could fault.

I can't wait to go back!

Went to Bowfinger on 13 June 2009.

Meal for 4 (with 2 bottles of wine) was 300 Euro.

Venue - Wonderful

Service - Awful. 3/10. We were there 3 hours. Not that we like to rush but we waited 25 minutes for sweets.

Also, when 2 of the meals were substandard (at best), the waiter basically just kept bringing them back (I assume to make sure we paid).

Food - 2 good meals out of 4. 2 meals were basically inedible.

Overall - 3/10. Totally dissapointing. If it's architecture you're into have a look around the city. The food at Bowfinger is nowhere near the standard it should be. A complete rip-off.
