I have visited this restaurant twice. Once by accident during the Christmas holidays when I followed an elderly couple through the door out of curiosity then on my return to Paris in the Spring because the first visit was extraordinary.

The Owner greets you and serves you. It is little more than a cafe, but oh my, the offerings. My take was that this small place gives you its heart. A meal that will be satisfying because it is well prepared and well thought out., interesting because the Chef was Egyptian and used his own spices, continental because everything is fresh and acquired locally with a sense of intrigue. I had the pigeon and hopefully will again, for it was truly succulent and aromatic. Wild offerings are this owners forte and he serves each meal with his own personal signature, almost a lost art. This delightful find is a must.

I can only assume management has changed since jan 2010. The food here was ok and reasonable value. However the waiter didn't think anything of casually slagging off 'les rosbifs' as he served the french clientele.

My first visit to this small, inviting restaurant was a year ago December. I had promised myself a Christmas in Paris but had become jaded by the fast food restaurants from fried chicken to sushi. I decided to follow an elderly couple into this lovely space for a bite to eat. I was not disappointed. With the charm of an out of the way cafe, Koclico sits adjacent to the entry to the Museum of Natural History.

This is a culinary treasure, a must for gastronomes. The Chef duties are shared between the owner a Parisian and his associate who hales from Egypt The fare tends toward a selection of specialized menues. You may find sesonal meats, venison or something you've never heard of as an entre. Each, succlently prepared and served with the kind of hospitality one would recieve at a friends home. I made another trip to Paris this year and both my husband and I enjoyed a most memorable meal of guinea fowl and couscous. A good place to treat yourself and a friend or two.
