Chez Georges
your comments review this restaurant
I have enjoyed several dinners at Chez Georges-normally on a Friday, and always around one week before Christmas. Arnaud, grandson of the founder continues to host this exceptional little gem of a restaurant, packed to the rafters with local Parisians , run and served by a gang of bossy but big hearted madames, giving us all our favourite French food -L'escargot Bourgogne, Soupe L'oignons, Rillettes slapped onto the table in a big bowl with a gallon of cornichons, chateaubriand, iles flotants, creme brulee - who could wish for more on a cold winter's night?
It's in a wonderful time warp, and we do not want it ever to go out of the family's hands or to get too well known with the 'l'etrangers' .
Eurostar strikes permitting, I am off there again tomorrow, a Friday, and just one week before Christmas, and I am already planning my menu.
