Avoid like the plague!

OK location (near Louvre and looking out on busy street ), hard working staff, except for the main waiter seemed more interested in serving the other male customers.

Wanted coffee but was refused. Spent nearly £60 on other alcoholic drinks but because we did not eat, were refused a coffee with it. The waiter lied and said 'we do not serve hot drinks', when clearly they do (other people with food having coffee).

Hugely expensive for location (£7 for an orange juice), rubbish atmosphere.

Will never go back, hopefully no one else will and they realise that the customer comes first.

Everything else on our Paris trip was fantastic, this was a 'Cafe' close to the hotel that we stopped in for a late night cap. In comparison to the rest of the weekend, this was the worst. Luckily its not typical of Paris. Try the 'cafe de le Comedie' across the road, much better.

As said before, avoid, make them change their poor service.

We ate at Cafe Ruc - June 2008. I must admit we where bitterly dissapointed.

The food took over an hour to arrive, and when it did come we (4) recieved it at diiferent times, my risotto (Cold and chewy) arrived 15mins after my sisters and mothers, - kitchen coordination is not one of their skills. Let alone the simple bowl of fries we requested for my famished 2 year old niece, this also took more than an hour to be served. Likewise with our wine after numerous requests it finally arrived after our main course was served - would have been alright if we wanted wine with our dessert !!!

I must admit I did feel sorry for the young waitress, I think it must have been her first day and she was quite flustered. We did give her support and encouragement, and I don't think it was her fault. The senior staff /maitre d, where quite aware of the lack of service and should have stepped in - they certainly do not work as a team. Food I must admit when it did arrive was pretty average, coffee was bitter/stale, so overall I would give the cafe a wide berth.

I ate at this restaurant on Friday, 23 May, 2008. I ordered the beef filet with bearnaise sauce and pommes frites. The quality was decent, but somewhat expensive for the amount of food served. The service wasn't bad, but the waiter did seem to prefer practicing his English rather than allowing me to try my French. I have eaten at this restaurant a few times in the past five years and the quality of the food has been consistent - good, but not outstanding. A great restaurant for those travelers not brave enough to attempt to decipher a true French menu!

Went there Saturday gone. Great location but we got stuck at the back near the stairs to the loo's which considering there was a great table in the window, which remained unoccupied for 1.5 hours I was pissed off. Waiter slightly aloof but spoke English (though I tried my French out on him he seemed happier speaking English).

Decor was lovely contemporary and there was a buzz about the place. Ate round 10.30 and the place remained full after we left at 12.30. Diners arriving all the time. Ate Caesar salad (good but no anchovy) and a fillet steak with béarnaise sauce which was a tad overdone. Wine a chateau brown was excellent but very heavy and too heavy to drink 2 bottles of...like jam!

Would go back especially as a destination with someone special

2 persons with a good wine 140€ which considering everything, isnt bad.
