La Cave Gourmande - le Restaurant de Mark Singer
your comments review this restaurant
I have eaten at La Cave Gourmande on numerous occasions. The food is creative, beautiful to see and uses only the very best ingredients, chosen with manic care by the chef. It is amazing that a small bistro such as this can produce such exquisite food, worthy of a one, if not two, star Michelin restaurant. What makes this restaurant all the more astonishing is that its chef is American. To be a a top level chef in France as an American is as astonishing as being a Marseillais home run hitter playing for the Yankees. The conviviality of this husband-wife team is also deserving of mention. One feels at home in this simply decorated neighborhood place. It is a bit like an "anti-bouquinistes": a place where the honesty of the ambiance is coupled with extraordinary cuisine. Don't miss this place before the real reviewers find it and the prices go up!
