Wepler

My wife and I came here a few weeks ago and were very disappointed. The staff is largely Algerian (it's a bit like walking into a coucous place now compared to when we were here years ago) and that has really changed the atmosphere. On the plus side the outside looked spruced up, but it really does seem that think the place is badly managed now. Rude, nonchalant service and seafood that, frankly, was not at all fresh. A great disappointment. Considering the price, you're much better off going to Bofinger for the same price.

We found Wepler by chance on an anniversary weekend in Paris. They found us a table within 10 minutes of turning up without reservation on a busy Saturday night, the service was excellent, the oysters sublime and the rest of the food very good. The wine list was incredibly reasonable (bottle of Bollinger 56 Euros). We will definitely return.

I agree with the reviews: my husband and I have started to go to Paris for our wedding anniversary in October (2205 was the third time, in Paris, not anniversary!) and each time we've celebrated at Wepler! The last time I reserved over the Internet but when we got there, they couldn't find the reservation: when I said it was our wedding annivresary and we'd come (as for the past 2 years) all the way from Milan... we were seated in 2 seconds flat! Best seafood in Paris (I can also recommend L'Européen opposite Gare du Lyon)
