La Mascotte

I had the pleasure of dining at La Mascotte last week with friends who live in Paris. This was their first choice for "fruit de mer" (seafood). You pass by the display of absolutely fresh shellfish on the street as you enter the restaurant. They create enormous platters of shrimp, mussels, lingoustines, oysters, cockles, crab, etc. The room is cozy and inviting and the service is wonderful. Afterwards, to make your evening complete, you can take a leisurely stroll through Pigalle. Not to be missed.

I ate here a while ago. The food and service are both good. Please do not expect the waiters to speak English or the menu to be translated....to point out the obvious, you are in Frace and therefore why should anything be in English? I suggest you take a phrase book and not be so horrified when you order steak tartare (which is also served in many high quality places in the UK).
Nice atmosphere and they serve some excellent seafood.
