I had an amazing time at this restaurant....this was probably one of the best restaurants I frequented while in Paris. Anyone who goes must try the chocolate mousse to finish.

We last wrote a review of this restaurant in December 2006...Since then we have returned for a very dissapointing experience....Two young girls manage the front of this under-new-management restaurant...the food choices look good but lack the expected quality...We had the saumon aux deux sauces which was presented with one very unpalatable sauce ( 2 merged into 1) which did little to camoflage the several day old saumon which lurked beneath...no bed of spinach but boiled potatoes which were the only really good thing on the plate,,,the bread was nondescript, the salad ordinary, and the dessert, a mousse au chocolat which was sticky and too sweet..the isle flottante was a over-done meringue in a not-so-creme-creme....Overall the prix fixe menu was not worth a euro much less the 37 charged and , the wine was ok but was wasted on these entrees altogether. NO return trip for us, we will look elsewhere for the kind of food we anticipae when in Paris....Sorry..

The atmosphere is great but the service is terribly slow. Also I am sure that at least two of their sauces served with the steak are bought in rather than being made on the premises as they were pretty nasty. The seared foie gras is to die for though.

L'Ilot Vache is located ideally on a corner of two streets on Ile St Louis....We have become habituees of this restaurant since 1989 when the robust personality of the owner, Mde Nicoile Beauchamps, first attracted our interest when she declared that she did not like Americans because they " stole her ashtrays and silverware". Americans we are and we were determined to win her owver by frequenting her wonderful restaurant over the years. I think we accomplished our goal but , sadly, she retired abruptly one year and we have never been able to reach her since then. The next owners did change things a bit, but kept the same original menu intact, and when we arrived at Halloween one year, we were pleased to find them all dressed up for the occasion, one not commonly celebrated in the France that I recall from years ago. Food and prices were good and most of the clients were French.....It is possibole that , under even newer ownership, that more and more tourists have found this spot.....and that the food and prices may have been somewhat affected by that change.....We have not been there for 6 years, so would not hesitate to return ...we love it: we even have a hand painted large copy of the facade of the restaurant hanging in our home...this painting was rendered from a postcard menu and is lifelike......We liked the saumon aux deux sauces , salade composee, and whatever dessert was available, preferringbottled water to wine. The house specials were always good quality and good value.........ndv

This restaurant is an over prices tourist trap.

The service is so slow, the flowers wilted & the food very overprices for the quality.

The Roquefort sauce was made from very cheap Roquefort making it too salty.

Another of the sauces came out of a packet.

Both of our steaks were overcooked & for 2 starters, 2 main & a bottle of wine we had to pay 180 Euros.

I have no problem with paying this amount when the food is good, but in this case, it wasn't even ok...

A sad let down as the decor is charming....
